I’m pretty sure I’m the only person on this planet who hasn’t been keeping up with the Olympics. I turn on the TV and somehow am automatically bored, more than likely because when I do turn to the Olympics, it’s the sports like boxing that I have absolutely no interest in that are on. This results in me changing the channel or turning off the TV altogether and missing the sports that I’d love to watch: swimming, gymnastics, or olympic weightlifting. Apparently, I have an issue with timing. The redeeming factor in my turning off the television results in goodies like these:
For the graham crackers and marshmallows, I used this recipe from Deliciously Organic, adding a 1/4 teaspoon of banana extract to the marshmallows. To make this even more simple, use store-bought graham crackers and marshmallows, and spread some mashed banana on the graham cracker to get the banana flavor without all the effort of making your own marshmallows.
These s’mores are by far the best you’ll ever eat. Why? Because they’ve got bacon, of course. This is my take on a s’more that Elvis would love. It’s got a toasted banana flavored marshmallow, a slathering of creamy peanut butter, a crispy slice of bacon, and a square of dark chocolate for good measure. Smush all these ingredients together between two graham crackers and devour. It might possibly be the best s’more you’ll ever eat. It’s so good it warrants me repeating myself.
Check out these amazing s’mores and treats Elvis Presley would love:
- Bourbon Marshmallow S’mores + Bacon from How Sweet It Is
- Peanut Butter Banana Bacon Bars from Willow Bird Baking
- The Elvis Sandwich from Serious Eats (via High Heels and Frijoles)
- Bacon Banana Cookies from Spoon Fork Bacon
