About

Welcome to Studio Cuisine, where the recipes you’ll find are a product of my studio apartment kitchen! Despite it’s tiny size, it’s a kitchen that I’ve grown to love, even when it has the highest temperatures in my entire apartment!

My name is Rachel, and I’m a 24 year-old graduate student residing in Washington, DC. I was born in New Jersey, moved to California when I was 9, and have spent the last fourteen or so years of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area and Tucson, Arizona (Go Wildcats!). I have a mild obsession (nerd alert) with crossword puzzles, and drink entirely too much coffee.

In January of 2012, I participated in a Paleo Diet challenge hosted by my gym. While I didn’t actually win the challenge, I gained an invaluable appreciation for what it means to be healthy. I equate health with eating foods with ingredients I can pronounce, but I am far from perfect. I have a killer sweet tooth that cannot always be tamed by fruit. The recipes you’ll find here will reflect that: some healthy ones, and others…not so much.

I’m 100% self-taught in the kitchen, with absolutely zero formal training. If you’re lucky you’ll be privy to a number my inevitable recipe disasters.  Many of my posts are a product of inspiration from the food blogs I follow, which you can find an extensive list of here.

Feel free to email me at studiocuisineblog@gmail.com – I’m always happy to hear from you!
